Terms and Conditions
Effective 2026-05-21
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Air, the Reception Audio website, and any related installer, license key, documentation, or support we provide. Please read them before buying or using Air.
"Reception Audio," "we," "us," and "our" mean Reception Audio LLC. "Air" means the macOS application Air by Reception Audio. "You" means the person or organization buying, downloading, installing, or using Air.
What Air is
Air is a Mac application for conducting MIDI timing. It is sold as a one-time purchase with a perpetual license. Air is not a subscription service and does not require a user account.
Your license
When you buy Air, Reception Audio grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Air on Macs you own or control, subject to these Terms. This is a license to use the software, not a sale of the software itself.
Your license is perpetual for the version of Air you purchased, unless it is refunded, charged back, obtained fraudulently, or terminated because you materially violate these Terms.
License keys
Air may require a license key to activate or validate your purchase. You are responsible for keeping your license key private. Do not publish, resell, share, or distribute your license key.
We may disable or revoke a license key if the purchase is refunded, charged back, obtained fraudulently, shared publicly, or used in a way that violates these Terms.
What you may not do
You may not:
- copy, resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute Air or your license key;
- modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract Air's source code except where applicable law expressly allows it;
- remove copyright, trademark, or license notices from Air;
- bypass, tamper with, or interfere with licensing, activation, or security features;
- use Air in a way that violates law or infringes someone else's rights.
Your music
You own your music, MIDI files, audio files, DAW projects, recordings, and performances. Reception Audio does not claim ownership of music you create with Air.
You are responsible for your own projects, backups, sample-library licenses, DAW setup, and rights to any music or materials you use with Air.
Purchases and payment
Purchases are processed by our payment provider. Our payment provider may act as merchant of record, process payment, calculate taxes, send receipts, and issue license keys or order records. Your purchase may also be subject to that provider's buyer terms and policies.
Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. If a purchase is refunded or reversed, the related license key may be disabled.
Updates and compatibility
We may release updates, fixes, or new versions of Air, but we are not required to provide every future update for free or to maintain compatibility with every future version of macOS, DAWs, virtual MIDI tools, hardware, or third-party software.
Air currently requires an Apple Silicon Mac and a built-in or external Magic Trackpad. Other requirements may change as the software evolves.
Support
We want Air to work well for the people who buy it. Support is available at support@receptionaudio.com. We may ask for order information, system details, or a description of the problem so we can help.
Third-party services
Our website, checkout, documentation, videos, analytics, email, and licensing flows may rely on third-party services such as YouTube, Google Analytics, hosting providers, and email providers. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. Air itself does not collect your MIDI files, audio files, DAW projects, sample-library content, conducting gestures, or in-app usage patterns.
Disclaimers
Air is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reception Audio disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not guarantee that Air will meet every workflow, work with every DAW or virtual instrument, or remain compatible with every future operating-system or third-party software change.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reception Audio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost projects, business interruption, or loss arising from third-party software or hardware.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reception Audio's total liability for any claim related to Air or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for Air. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
Termination
You may stop using Air at any time. We may terminate or suspend a license if you materially violate these Terms, misuse a license key, obtain the license fraudulently, or reverse the purchase through a refund or chargeback.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, restrictions, payment, refunds, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Wisconsin and the United States, excluding conflict-of-law rules. If you live somewhere with mandatory consumer-protection laws, those mandatory rights still apply.
Disputes
If you have a concern or dispute, contact us first at support@receptionaudio.com so we can try to resolve it informally.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to make it visible.
