Reception Audio LLC makes Air, a Mac app for conducting MIDI timing. This policy explains the limited information we collect to run our website, send launch updates, deliver and retrieve license keys, validate purchases, and provide support.
Air is sold as a one-time purchase with a perpetual license. Air does not require user accounts.
What Air itself collects
Air runs locally on your Mac. The app does not collect or transmit your MIDI files, audio files, DAW projects, sample-library content, conducting gestures, or in-app usage patterns. There is no app telemetry or in-app analytics.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the website, sell and support Air, and communicate with people who ask to hear from us.
- Email address. We collect your email address when you join the launch list, buy Air, request license-key help, or contact support.
- Purchase and license information. When you buy Air, our payment and licensing provider may process your order details, license key, license status, purchase email address, and activation information needed to deliver, retrieve, or validate a license.
- Support correspondence. If you email us, we collect the information you choose to include so we can answer and resolve the request.
- Website usage information. Our website may collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page, and event data through hosting logs and analytics tools.
How we use information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- to send release updates when you ask for them
- to process purchases and deliver Air
- to issue, retrieve, validate, and support license keys
- to answer support requests and troubleshoot problems
- to maintain website security and understand basic website performance
- to comply with legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution obligations.
Purchases, payments, and license keys
Air purchases are processed by our payment provider. Our payment provider handles payment processing and may provide Reception Audio with order, customer, and license information needed to deliver and support your purchase. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
License keys are tied to purchase records so that you can retrieve a lost key, receive support, and use the license you purchased. If Air or a related license flow validates a license key, the validation is limited to information needed to confirm the license status and support the purchased license.
Email updates
If you join the launch list or otherwise opt in to updates, we may email you about Air and Reception Audio. You can unsubscribe from marketing or launch-update emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email, if present, or by contacting us at support@receptionaudio.com.
We may still send transactional or support emails about a purchase, license key, refund, security issue, or support request.
Analytics and cookies
Our website uses Google Analytics to understand site traffic and improve the website. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information about how visitors use the site.
Our website may also embed third-party media, such as YouTube videos. Those third parties may process information according to their own privacy policies when you interact with their services.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising networks or retargeting pixels.
We may share information with service providers that help us run the website, collect form submissions, send email, process purchases, issue license keys, provide analytics, host the website, or respond to support. These providers are allowed to use the information only to provide services to us or as otherwise described in their own policies.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of Reception Audio or others, to prevent fraud or abuse, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy.
- Launch-list emails are kept until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete them, or we clean up the list.
- Purchase and license records may be kept as long as needed to provide license retrieval, license validation, support for a perpetual license, fraud prevention, tax/accounting records, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
- Support emails may be kept for a reasonable period so we can follow up, understand recurring problems, and defend against legal claims if needed.
- Website logs and analytics data are kept according to the settings of our hosting and analytics providers.
Your choices and rights
You can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have provided to us. You can also ask us to stop sending marketing or launch-update emails.
We may need to keep certain purchase, license, support, or transaction records where required for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, license-support, or dispute-resolution reasons.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect, request correction or deletion, object to certain processing, or receive a copy of your information. We will respond to requests as required by applicable law.
International visitors
Reception Audio is based in the United States. If you use our website or buy Air from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
Where required by applicable law, our legal bases for processing include performing a contract with you, complying with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and supporting Air and the website, and your consent for optional marketing or launch-update emails.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we aim to collect only what we need, limit access, and use service providers appropriate for the data they process.
Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 16. If You are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
